We often associate blessing with strength, security, comfort, and having life together. But Jesus begins the Sermon on the Mount with a very different picture. In Matthew 5:3–6, the King calls the needy, grieving, meek, and hungry blessed, teaching us to live with open hands and trust God for what only He can give.
