Trauma can leave wounds long after the crisis has passed, and sometimes Christians carry the added pressure of wondering why they’re not “over it” yet. Isaiah 61 offers a different picture. Christ moves toward the brokenhearted with comfort, grace, and restoration. Healing isn’t proof of spiritual strength, and faith doesn’t require pretending the hurt never happened.
